<p>Provided is an image display technology for reproducing a high-quality moving image which is clear and bright to human eyes, while suppressing panel deterioration. The image display device is provided with a light emitting element wherein light emission luminance is adjusted by a flowing current; and a control section for switching from a high luminance period wherein the light emitting element emits light at first luminance to a luminance attenuating period wherein the light emission luminance of the light emitting element attenuates from the first luminance to second luminance. In the image display device, a period of time from a time when the light emitting element starts to emit light to a time when the light emission luminance of the light emitting element reaches the first luminance is shorter than the period of time where the light emission luminance attenuates from the first luminance to the second luminance in the luminance attenuating period.</p> |
