PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device which can control costs associated with replacement by reducing the number of replacement times of a wiper blade, and to provide a liquid jet apparatus. SOLUTION: The cleaning device 5 which cleans an inkjet orifice surface 15 by sliding the wiper blade 19 in contact with the inkjet orifice surface 15 (jet orifice surface) of a recording head 3 (liquid jet head) is equipped with a cutting mechanism 22 (excision means) which cuts off a ridging part 24 (sliding part) to the inkjet orifice surface 15 of the wiper blade 19.
