PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair type massage machine capable of reclining a backrest part and a seat part while retaining a relaxed posture of a treated person by one drive source, and capable of preventing generation of the impact or impact sound during the reclining motion. SOLUTION: The front end of the seat part 30 is raised on the way and lowered thereafter when the backrest part 20 is swung from an erected state to an inclined state by a link mechanism. The massage machine is equipped with a pivot 74 to connect link pieces 55 and 57 which constitute the link mechanism, and an elastic body 90 fitted in the outer periphery of the pivot to apply the repulsive force in the pivotal direction to opposite faces of the link pieces in the periphery of the pivot. The movement of the link pieces in the direction orthogonally crossing the pivot is restrained by the elastic body, so that the looseness around the pivot when the rising motion of the front end of the seat part changes to the lowering motion is prevented.
