PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively shield a transistor from light with simple constitution in an electrooptical device such as a liquid crystal electrooptical device. SOLUTION: The electrooptical device comprises a substrate (10), data lines (6a) and scan lines (11a), pixel electrodes (9a) provided by pixel, a semiconductor layer (1a) having a channel region (1a'), a data line-side source/drain region (1d), a pixel electrode-side source/drain region (1e), a first junction region (1b), a second junction region (1c), and a capacitance lower electrode (1f), a capacitance insulating film (75), a partial insulating film (202) provided so as to cover a part excluding the channel region and capacitance lower electrode and including the first and the second junction regions, a capacitance upper electrode (72) structuring storage capacitance with the capacitance lower electrode through the capacitance insulating film, and a gate electrode (3a) opposed to the channel region with a gate insulating film (2) interposed.
