PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope which makes it possible to hold the endoscope whose operation holding part is bent and operation part is provided with operation buttons for operating an internal device or an external apparatus in a stable state with one hand. SOLUTION: In the endoscope 10 comprising an operation holding part 11 provided with an operation part 20 extending roughly in the cross direction and a holding part 21 extending from the operation part to the back oblique lower part, on the upper part and lower part of the outer surface of the operation part, the operation buttons B2, B3, B4 and B5 for operating the internal device of the endoscope or the external apparatus are positioned more at the front than the holding part and provided, respectively.
