PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the productivity of a chopstick material in manufacturing the chopstick material, especially in the step of splitting the chopstick material, and to simplify and downsize an apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: The apparatus for splitting a chopstick material includes a chopstick material conveyor 20 for successively conveying chopstick materials from one side to the other side of a grounded machine stand 10 along the longitudinal direction, chopstick material-supplying portions 5 provided on one side of the machine stand, and chopstick cutter means 6 provided on the other side from the chopstick-supplying portions and splitting the chopstick materials 9. The chopstick conveyor is provided with a plurality of circulated chopstick-conveying members 22, the chopstick-conveying member has engaging portions 23 and 23 for engaging the chopstick members on both sides 22a relative to a conveying direction H of the chopstick-conveying member, respectively, and the chopstick cutter means are provided on both sides of the chopstick-conveying member to longitudinally cut the chopstick materials conveyed by the chopstick-conveying members.
