<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for easily adjusting deformation of the main body of the apparatus at the time of its installation even if there is deformation in a floor surface on which the image forming apparatus is to be installed. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has, at the bottom of the main body of the apparatus, four or more grounding members that support the image forming apparatus. One of the grounding members includes an adjusting mechanism that adjusts the height the bottom of the main body of the image forming apparatus relative to a floor on which the image forming apparatus is to be installed. In addition, the apparatus has: a detection means for detecting an amount of deformation of the main body of the apparatus; and a detection display means for displaying a detection result obtained by the detection means.
