PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus, an imaging system and an imaging method which allow an image of a person to be reproduced and displayed as his life-size image while effectively using digital zoom, without degrading the image quality by considering the image quality of a display device. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: a photographing part 2 for converting a subject image formed by a zoom lens to image data; a control part 1 for obtaining a focal length for life-size display of the zoom lens, which is required for displaying the image data as a life-size image on an external television 20; an optical zoom part 3 for controlling the focal length of the zoom lens in accordance with the focal length for life-size display; an electronic zoom part 4 for trimming the image data to perform electronic zooming processing in the case that the focal length for life-size display exceeds the longest focal length of the zoom lens; and a TV transmission part 9 for transmitting image data for life-size display.
