PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shutter device which can smoothly move panels from a vertical portion to a housing portion of a rail. SOLUTION: According to a structure of the shutter device, the plurality of panels 2 are serially connected together by string members 3, and a first roller 18 and a second roller 20 are arranged on each lateral end of each panel 2. When the panels 2 are lowered to the vertical portion 1a of the rail 1, the first rollers 18 are arranged on an upper side of the vertical portion 1a of the rail and the second rollers 20 are arranged on a lower side of the vertical portion 1a in order that the panels 2 are arranged in the vertical plane. When the panels 2 are lifted from the vertical portion 1a of the rail 1 to be moved into the housing portion 1b, vertical locations of the first rollers 18 and the second rollers 20 are inverted in order that the panels are rotatable from the vertical plane at an angle larger than 90 degrees, and the first rollers 18 travel on a lower rail 1b2 of the housing portion 1b while the second rollers 20 travel on an upper rail 1b1 of the housing portion 1b.
