The present invention relates to a method for the prognosis of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) based on the expression levels of BRCA1 and XPG genes. In this sense, the inventors of the present invention have discovered that high expression levels of BRCA1 gene and low expression levels of XPG gene are correlated with a poor prognosis of a subject suffering from NSCLC. Moreover, the invention also relates to a method for designing an individual chemotherapy in a subject suffering from said disease.
