PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface hydrophilic member which has superior surface hydrophilicity and high durability sustainability, and is suppressed of lowering of its surface hydrophilicity caused particularly by physical and chemical influences. SOLUTION: The surface hydrophilic member comprises a substrate and a polymer layer containing a polymer which is chemically bonded to the surface of the substrate, wherein the polymer has a phosphorylcholine group and two or more substrate-bonding group in its side chain.
