<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp lighting circuit in which a discharge lamp is prevented from dying out by forming the most suitable DC period according to a state of the discharge lamp or the discharge lamp lighting circuit with the minimum circuit scale. <P>SOLUTION: The discharge lamp lighting circuit includes a DC-AC inverter 25 which receives a power supply voltage, converts the power supply voltage into an AC after boosting, and supplies AC power to the discharge lamp 21, and a control circuit 22 which, when the discharge lamp 21 is started, sends out a long period signal having a longer period than a frequency in normal lighting to the DC-AC inverter 25, afterwards sends out a normal driving signal being the frequency in the normal lighting to the DC-AC inverter 25, and sets a period of the long period signal at least by any of the power supply voltage, a circuit temperature, or a light turning off time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
