PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a decorative metal article whose working method is simple and which can be mass-produced and make a decoration such as a jewel or the like look more beautiful compared to the way of fixation of a conventional embedding type, and the decorative metal article. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the decorative metal article 6 includes; a base molding step of preparing a base 3 provided with a support on the end part by a plastic composition containing at least one kind of powder selected from silver, gold, platinum, copper and the alloy and an organic binder, and drying it; a stone seat part forming step of grinding the support part 3' of the base 3 and forming a stone seat part 4 for fixation corresponding to the size of the decoration 5 to be fixed, whose width is larger than that of the support part 3'; a decoration setting step of setting the decoration 5 whose width and thickness are larger than those of the support part 3' to the stone seat part 4 for the fixation; and a composition calcination step of firing a molded object which has passed through the decoration setting step and fixing the decoration 5 whose width and thickness are larger than that of the support part 3'.
