PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practical maximum displacement storage device not restricted by an elongation length of a used strain sensor. SOLUTION: This maximum displacement storage device 2 includes the strain sensor 10 capable of storing the maximum strain, and an elastically-deformable elastic deformation body 20 connected dynamically in series with the strain sensor 10. Since the device 2 can store the maximum detectable displacement without being restricted by the elongation length of the strain sensor 10, the maximum displacement storage device having the large maximum detectable displacement and a compact size can be provided.
