PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric rice cooker capable of increasing water content in rice by simple structure. SOLUTION: The electric rice cooker 1 includes a pot 10 for storing material containing water and rice to be cooked, heating means (5, 6 and 19) for heating the material in the pot 10, a lid 11 for closing an opening of the pot 10 and a control device 9 for performing a cooking process including a water absorbing process in which the heating means is controlled so that the rice absorbs water. In the water absorbing process, the control device 9 increases an inner pressure of the pot 10 up to 1.05-1.18 atmospheric pressure so that the rice absorbs water. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
