PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a determination method and its apparatus for obtaining a comfortable pillow at a dynamic time. SOLUTION: An optimal pillow determination method is a method for providing a target person with a pillow optimal, a first detecting arrangement for detecting an angle of rotation of a head part and a second detecting arrangement for detecting an angle of rotation of a waist part are prepared, angles of rotation of the head part and the waist part respectively from a basic posture are obtained by the first and second detecting arrangement, changes over time of the respective angles of rotation are obtained as rotation history, a gap between the rotation of the waist part and the rotation of the head part at an identical time of day is obtained from the rotation history of the head part and the rotation history of the waist part, the gap is compared with a preset reference value, and whether or not the pillow is optimal for the target person is determined.
