<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of reducing an opportunity for browsing a printed matter by a person who is permitted to perform a printing operation and reducing a chance of leakage of confidential information or personal information to the outside of a printing system when the printed matter is discharged to a specific discharging device, and to provide a method for controlling the image forming apparatus and a program. <P>SOLUTION: It is analyzed whether or not first image data common to pages and second image data different between pages are included in print data. A specific discharge device is specified on the basis of the print data as a discharge device to which a printing medium to be printed is discharged.
