PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a theft detection apparatus for an electronic device and the electronic device which can detect the removal of an electronic device or movement of the electronic device by an improper means as theft. SOLUTION: By monitoring a state of connection of a power source plug 19 which supplies necessary acting power source (commercial power source) for an action of the electronic device to a power source outlet by using a relay 23 and a resistance value measuring section 28, pulling out of the power source plug 19 from the power source outlet or the movement of the electronic device for improper reasons are detected as theft.
