The system (2) has a magnetic unit (6) and a patient bed (8), where the unit is supported over a multi-axle robot i.e. four-axle robot (22). The robot is formed for providing translatory motion. A rail is provided for the robot. The bed is adjustably supported and is formed in three spatial directions. Another rail (26) for a base assembly is used for the translatory motion of the bed. The unit is circularly formed, and has superconducting screen coils (12) and superconducting field coils (14) arranged in a vacuum chamber (10).
