Apparatus for verifying a payment transaction comprises a processor, storage, memory and a network connection. The processor is configured to store user details in the storage including a plurality of transaction identifications and receive, via the network connection, a verification request including a first transaction identification. The processor identifies contact details, e.g. a telephone number, in response to the verification request, and, using said contact details obtains an indication as to whether the transaction is valid. This indication is returned via the network connection to the issuer of the verification request. |
