PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic for nails, containing nitocellulose hardly damaging the nails as a film-forming agent. SOLUTION: This cosmetic for the nails containing a 40 to 90 mass% organic solvent is provided by incorporating an N-acylated amino acid, ester of the N-acylated amino acid or oligomer of the N-acylated amino acid. As the N-acylated amino acid, ester of the N-acylated amino acid or oligomer of the N-acylated amino acid, an N-acylated glutamic acid diester is preferable, and also it is preferable to contain the nitrocellulose as the film-forming agent.
