PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lower the height of a sheet feeder with a simple structure. SOLUTION: The sheet feeder is provided with two sheet loading parts 11, 12 arranged in two overlapping layers and two feeding mechanism parts S1, S2 for feeding sheets P1, P2 loaded on the respective sheet loading parts 11, 12. Then, at least part of the sheet loading part 11 as a first layer has an area which is not overlapped with the sheet loading part 12 as a second layer laminated on the sheet loading part as the first layer. The feeding mechanism part S1 for feeding the sheet P1 from the sheet loading part 11 as the first layer is mounted in the single layer area. As the feeding mechanism part S1 for the sheet loading part 11 as the first layer and the sheet loading part 12 as the second layer are structured to be substantially same height, the height of the sheet feeder can be lowered.
