<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable not only the suppression of the overvoltage of a collector and an emitter at turn on of the semiconductor switching element of its own arm but also the suppression of the overvoltage of the recovery voltage of the reflux diode of the semiconductor switching element of the other arm. <P>SOLUTION: The recovery overvoltage suppressing means 16a of an active gate circuit 12a regulates the gate current of the semiconductor switching element S1 of one arm, so as to suppress the overvoltage of the recovery voltage of the reflux diode D2 of the other arm, at turn on of the semiconductor switching element S1 of one arm out of a pair of arms that form the leg of a power converter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
