PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal cell as an aberration correcting means such as an optical pickup device, which is a high performance liquid cell including a number of connecting terminals while being small-sized, and a manufacturing method for it. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal cell includes: extraction wirings 7a-7f connected to electrode patterns 4, 5 formed on transparent substrates 2, 3 and extended to the outside of a frame-like seal 10; and a conductive material 15 connected to an exposed extraction wiring on the outside of the frame seal 10 and be led out from the substrate end faces 2a, 2b, wherein the frame-like seal 10 has a plurality of cutout parts 11a-11f reaching the substrate end faces 2a, 2b to expose the extraction wirings 7a-7f, and the cutout parts are respectively filled with conductive material 15, whereby conduction with the extraction wirings 7a-7f are obtained by the substrate end faces 2a, 2b.
