PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce waste of a medium to appropriately perform test plotting in an inkjet printer. SOLUTION: The inkjet printer 10 includes an inkjet head 12, a main scanning drive part 14, rollers 16a, 16b serving as auxiliary scanning drive parts, and a control part 18. When the inkjet printer 10 performs test plotting, the control part 18 confirms whether the preceding plotting is the test plotting, and when the preceding plotting is the test plotting, the control part 18 determines whether a space for performing test plotting without feeding the medium 50 in an auxiliary scanning direction is in the medium in a main scanning direction. When determining that there is the space, the control part 18 moves the inkjet head 12 in the main scanning direction by the main scanning drive part 14 without feeding the medium 50 in the auxiliary scanning direction to perform the next test plotting by the inkjet head 12.
