<p>A portable device (100, 200, 300, 400) having a user input ( 102, 206, 302, 404) consisting of a single touch sensitive area is disclosed. The user input ( 102, 206, 302, 404) is arranged to output ( 500, 600, 700) a signal responsive to force applied to the touch sensitive area. The device further has a controller (104) arranged to discriminate ( 502, 602, 702) one of a plurality of levels of said signal for provision (504, 604, 704) of a corresponding control signal. The control signal can be used for controlling (606, 706) operation of the portable device. A method of operating the portable device (100, 200, 300, 400), and a computer program for implementing the method are also disclosed.</p> |
