<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel material which can exhibit more excellent charge/discharge characteristics than a well-known low-cost cathode material for lithium ion batteries by using a raw material having reduced restriction on resources and being inexpensive. <P>SOLUTION: The lithium manganese complex oxide which is a lithium manganese complex oxide represented by the compositional formula: Li<SB>1+x</SB>(Mn<SB>1-m-n</SB>Fe<SB>m</SB>Ti<SB>n</SB>)<SB>1-x</SB>O<SB>2</SB>(wherein 0<x<1/3; 0≤m≤0.60; 0≤n≤0.60; and 0≤m+n≤0.60) and containing a crystal phase having a monoclinic Li<SB>2</SB>MnO<SB>3</SB>type layered rock salt structure, wherein in an ordered hexagonal network structure in the transition-metal-containing layer in the crystalline phase of the monoclinic Li<SB>2</SB>MnO<SB>3</SB>type layered rock salt type ordered structure, the occupancy of transition metals at the central positions of the hexagonal network is larger than that at the lattice-forming positions of the hexagonal network. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
