PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical cable that has a structure for implementing improved durability. SOLUTION: The optical cable 10 basically comprises a coated optical fiber 11 and a cable jacket 16 covering an outer circumference of the coated optical fiber. The coated optical fiber 11 comprises a glass fiber 12 and a coating layer 13 of an ultraviolet-curable resin. For implementing an excellent impact resistance as an aspect of durability, the coating layer 13 of the coated optical fiber includes a first coating 13b having a Young's modulus of 200 Mpa or more. Meanwhile, the cable jacket 16 is composed of a halogen-free thermoplastic resin. The cable jacket 16 has a thickness of 0.7 mm or more, a flame resistance rated V2 of UL standards or higher, and the same or greater Young's modulus than the first coating 13b.
