PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a desired spool capable of precisely holding a wind-starting terminal or a wind-finishing terminal of a line by a simple inexpensive construction. SOLUTION: The spool 1 has flange parts 3 and 4 formed at both sides of a line-winding body part 2, and a line-nipping groove 10 for nipping a line terminal of a fishline or the like, and notched from the outer periphery of at least one of a flange part 3 in the radial direction of the spool. The flange part 3 has a thin thickness part 12 having the thickness thinned to the line-nipping groove 10 in a taper shape than the other part of the flange part 3 in the adjacent portion of the line-nipping groove 10. The thin thickness part 12 is formed by notching the inner face side of the flange part 3. A line-guiding face 13 for guiding the line from the line-nipping groove 10 to the line-winding body part 2 is formed in the flange part 3 between the line-winding body part 2 and the thin thickness part 12 by notching the inner face side thereof.
