FIELD: chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of depositing wear-resistant coating on a cutting instrument and can be used in metal working. An under layer is deposited from nitride or carbonitride compound of titanium, molybdenum and aluminium with the following ratio of components, wt %: titanium 78.7-79.9, molybdenum 7.0-7.3, aluminium 13.1-14.0; an intermediate layer from nitride or carbonitride compound of titanium, molybdenum, chrome and aluminium with the following ratio of componets, wt %: titanium 78.4-79.8, molybdenum 4.6-4.8, chrome 6.9-7.5, aluminium 8.7-9.3; a top layer from nitride or cabonitride compound of titanium, molybdenum and chrome with the following ratio of components, wt %: titanium 81.5-82.7, molybdenum 6.9-7.2, chrome 10.4-11.3. Three cathodes are used, lying horizontally in the same plane. The first cathode is made from titanium and aluminium, the second from titanium and chrome is placed opposite the first, and the third electrode is made from titanium and molybdenum and placed in between. ^ EFFECT: increased efficiency of the cutting instrument. ^ 1 tbl |
