PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an encode image medium type communication system and method, capable of performing network communication without using a printed matter by downloading and thumbnail-displaying an image with an identification code embedded therein by a terminal to select a specific image, and causing the terminal to decode it. SOLUTION: The communication system includes a service use general mobile terminal for downloading an image with an identification code embedded such that it cannot be recognized by human eyes; and a mobile terminal with built-in encode image decoding program or personal computer with USB camera which incorporates an encode image decoding program for decoding the image. The system downloads an encode image by the service use general mobile terminal and displays the image on the service use general mobile terminal, and the encode image is decoded by the mobile terminal with built-in encode image decoding program or the personal computer with USB camera with built-in encode image decoding program, thereby network communication is performed to provide a service.
