PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel in which errors in a data video signal due to over-current are prevented from being caused, and a method of driving the plasma display panel. SOLUTION: The method of driving the plasma display panel includes the steps of: (a) detecting the start point of high current generation in a data pulse generating circuit 240 outputting data pulses to an address electrode; (b) stopping signal transmission of an address buffer 220 buffering data to be output to the address electrode; (c) determining the end point of the high current generation in the data pulse generating circuit 240; and (d) resuming the signal transmission of the address buffer 220.
