PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophoretic display device driving method for making image display while suppressing a leak current between pixels, and suppressing power consumption. SOLUTION: The electrophoretic display device driving method includes: a feature value acquisition step S101 for extracting a length of a boundary between pixel data of a first gradation and pixel data of a second gradation from image data to be transmitted to a display part as a feature value N; a feature value determination step S102 for determining whether an operation mode in image display operation is to be switched based on the feature value N; and a mode switching step S103 for switching the operation mode based on the determination result of the feature value determination step S102.
