<p>This aims to provide a gasket (1), which is mounted in a mounting groove (13) formed in one of two mutually facing members and which is brought into close contact with the bottom face (13a) of the mounting groove (13) and the opposite face (12a) of the other of the two members. The gasket (1) can be prevented from falling in the mounting groove (13), and is neither raised so much in its packing ratio nor increased in its reaction. The gasket (1) is equipped on its side faces (13b) with protrusions (3) for interfering with the side faces (13b) of the mounting groove (13), when the gasket (1) is going to fall in the mounting groove (13), thereby to suppress that fall. The height of the upper portions of the protrusions (3) is more than 80 % of the groove depth, and is 70 % to 95 % of the gasket height. The height of the lower portions of the protrusions (3) is 40 % or more of the gasket height. The gasket (1) is used mainly as a waterproof seal for a mobile device such as a mobile telephone, or a small electric/electronic device.</p> |
