<p>A coder having an improved reception accuracy characteristic by contriving the arrangement of padding bits in a fixed information block for each coding method. A radio transmitter (100) using the convolution coding method has a bit padding unit (122). The bit padding unit (122) arranges padding bits in a bit position group in the central part except for the leading and trailing parts of the fixed information block in preference to transmission data and performs K-L bit paddings of a transmission bit sequence. The bit-padding unit (122) preferentially arranges the transmission data in bit position groups in the leading and trailing parts of the fixed information block constituted of M bits each proportional to the convolution coding constraint length V.Thus, when the convolution coding method is used, the transmission data can be preferentially arranged in the bit position groups in the leading and trailing parts having a high BER in the fixed information block, thereby improving the reception accuracy characteristic of the receiver.</p> |
