An apparatus and a method for providing information service based on location information are provided to access to cyber space of web and WAP(Wireless Application Protocol) using location information obtained by portable terminal. A location information receiver(220) receives current location information of a portable terminal from a given system. A memory(250) stores an application, data from an execution of the application, location information, and link information matched with the location information. A display unit(260) outputs various service information which is provided by a cyber space being connected. Link information is acquired by a controller(270) using the location information, and a connection to cyber space matched with the location information is processed based on the link information.
