The present invention refers to the design and development of an Electronic Module LP, which is a solid state electronic system for controlling the opening, warning and closing operation of passenger railroad car doors in STC-METRO trains, the invention solving problems of frequent maintenance and fault works in electromagnetic relay plates of trains currently used. The device was designed and manufactured with electronic components of high quality and reliability. The whole inlets are protected against electromagnetic interference and surge voltage disturbances. The outlets are protected against short circuits by resetting fuses. The power source includes a DC-DC converter using the Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) technique for supplying the control and signal circuits. A thick metallic cabinet, which perfectly fits with the place available for the electromagnetic LP block, was used so that the change is transparent. Two additional solid state relays are included; the RIK relay for inhi biting the operation of the KFS alarm and preventing the train from blocking while travelling at a speed of 35 Km/h or higher, and the RCF relay for indicating a fault in the compressor that supplies compressed air to the different electro-valves of the train. The device was subjected to laboratory tests in France and the "Departmento de Laboratorio de la Gerencia de Ingeniería y Desarrollo of the STC-Metro", where the operation and performance thereof comply with the tests, thereby obtaining the homologation on behalf of the STC-Metro. The purpose of the invention is to provide a solid state electronic equipment, which is highly reliable for controlling the opening, warning and closing operation of passenger railroad car DOORS in STC-METRO trains, thus promoting the users safety upon avoiding any abrupt opening of the doors while the train is in motion.
