PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microscope capable of preventing flare during a dark-field observation, and preventing limb darkening due to vignetting during a bright-field observation, thereby obtaining good observation images during both observations. SOLUTION: The microscope 1 includes: a bright-field half mirror 42 disposed in the optical path of the microscope 1 so as to be inserted and extracted, for aligning the optical axes of an illumination optical system and an observation optical system during the bright-field observation; and a light shielding member 31 disposed in the optical path so as to be inserted and extracted in the optical path between the bright-field half mirror 22 and the objective lens 23 of the microscope.
