PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve image quality by preventing appearance of an image due to light leakage around the image in an electro-optical device. SOLUTION: A data line, a scanning line, a TFT and a pixel electrode are provided on a TFT array base substrate (10). The base substrate has the TFT, an image-displaying area (10a) designated as a pixel electrode forming area, and a peripheral area which designates the periphery of the image-displaying area. Storage capacitance which stores electric potential at the pixel electrode for a prescribed period of time, and capacitance wiring (400) which is connected to a capacitance electrode composing the storage capacitance, are provided on the image-displaying area. On a frame area (53) which demarcates the image-displaying area from the peripheral area, a frame pattern (406) which is formed as the same film as the capacitance wiring and is formed at least at a part of the frame area concerned, is provided.
