<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of shortening a time until the start of projection. <P>SOLUTION: The projector has: a control circuit 101 for calculating a correction coefficient for correcting a projection image and correcting the projection image by the calculated correction coefficient by the use of a photographed image obtained by photographing a projection surface on which a prescribed projection image is projected by an imaging unit 120; and a projection unit 110 for projecting the corrected projection image.
