PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexible tube for endoscopes, which is capable of achieving a high capability of preventing buckling while preventing increase of the frictional resistance on the outer surface of the tube and the increase of the outer diameter of the tube. SOLUTION: Circumferential rib-shaped parts with projecting sections and circumferential slit parts with recessed sections are alternately formed in the axial direction of a tube body on the outer surface of the tubular tube body of the flexible tube for endoscopes, and metal coil bodies to be fitted into the circumferential slit parts are disposed in the tube body. When the tube body is bent, the circumferential rib-shaped parts adjacent to each other across a circumferential slit part abut on each other to generate component force in the direction toward the center of bending according to the compression stress in the axial direction working on the inner side of bending, and the metal coil bodies are held inside the circumferential slit parts which are closed by abutment of the circumferential rib-shaped parts.
