PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display capable of improving a brightness step due to an alignment error. SOLUTION: When the plasma display having different electrode configurations of discharge cells neighboring in a column direction and a closed barrier rib configuration has an alignment error in first and second electrodes, different rising slopes or falling slopes of a sustain discharge pulse are applied to the first and the second electrodes during a sustain period of a subfield. The brightness step between the discharge cells neighboring in the column direction is reduced by the alignment error by applying different rising slopes or falling slopes of the sustain discharge pulse.
