PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of effectively combining luminous fluxes from two lamps and using it as illuminating light, and, especially, individually adjusting an incidence position and an incidence angle of the illuminating light on an integrator lens. SOLUTION: In the projector, an adjustment device 30 adjusts the arrangement of optical paths of the luminous flux from a first light source part 10a and the luminous flux from a second light source part 10b by two steps at a first optical path bending part WF1 and a second optical path bending part WF2, so that the luminous fluxes from the respective light source parts 10a and 10b are individually adjusted in terms of the incidence position and the incidence angle. Accordingly, the luminous fluxes from both light source parts 10a and 10b are effectively combined and made incident on a uniformizing optical system 16, so that an optical modulation part 25 is uniformly illuminated with high illuminance.
