<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content reproducing unit capable of generating environment according to the type of content, and to provide a control method. <P>SOLUTION: The content reproducing unit transmits environment generation control information for generating a reproduction environment, namely environment for reproducing content, based on environment information according to the content to a portable terminal unit, when reproducing the content.
