<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform correct calibration in order to calibrate brightness and chromaticity of a liquid crystal display, in a color sensor for the liquid crystal display for measuring them. <P>SOLUTION: When using as a sensor 3b, a small-sized and inexpensive sensor 3b having a wide light-receiving angle and not having an optical system arranged oppositely to the liquid crystal display 2, gradation information is obtained from the liquid crystal display 2 side through an interface 18, and an operation/correction part 17d of a CPU 17 corrects a measurement result by the sensor 3b based on the gradation information, and determines a brightness value and a chromaticity value equivalent to a sensor having a narrow light-receiving angle. Hereby, even when using a sensor 3b having a wide light-receiving angle, the brightness value and the chromaticity value of the liquid crystal display 2 are measured accurately as if being measured by a sensor having a narrow light-receiving angle, namely, by a general color luminance meter, without being influenced by a view angle change caused by a gradation peculiar to a liquid crystal, and calibration is performed accurately. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
