<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a yellow ink composition and an ink set which attains a favorable image, in particular, an image with favorable hue, in addition to light resistance, and gives a recorded material which attains compatibility between favorable brightness and density even in a single-pass high-speed printing, and having high preservation stability, and to provide a recording method using the ink. <P>SOLUTION: The yellow ink contains C.I.Pigment Yellow 185 by 10 to 20 wt.%. The ink set comprises a combination of the above yellow ink with cyan ink containing C.I.Pigment Blue 15:3 or 15:4 and magenta ink containing C.I.Pigment Red 122, 202, 209 or C.I.Pigment Violet 19, in which concentration of pigments in each ink composition is controlled to 10 to 20 wt.%.
