DIFFUSION PLATE, BACKLIGHT UNIT COMPRISING THE SAME, LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND LIGHTING DEVICE

A light diffusing plate, a backlight unit including the same, a liquid crystal display and a lighting device are provided to achieve lateral light guiding and improve light uniformity by using the material of a light diffusing plate as a light guide plate. A light diffusing plate includes a light guide layer(10) and an upper diffusing layer(20) formed on the light guide layer. A superficial layer shape exists on the upper diffusing layer and there is no interface with the upper diffusing layer. The superficial layer shape has a shape of a triangle or an ellipse in which the ratio between the height and half of a bottom side ranges from 1 to 2.5. A lower diffusing layer(30) is formed at a bottom surface of the light guide layer.
