An internet fax system in connection with an SMS and a method using the same are provided to enable a receiver to immediately and conveniently check a received fax through authentication of a mobile communication terminal and enable a person without a fax receiving number to check a received fax through authentication of a mobile communication terminal. An internet fax system in connection with an SMS comprises an internet fax server(220), and an SMS transmitting unit(240). A client accesses the internet fax server. The internet fax server receives a document file and converts the document file into a fax image and transmits the image to a receiving side facsimile(300). The SMS transmitting unit transmits a record that the fax image is transmitted to a receiving side mobile communication terminal through the internet fax server.
