PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head slider capable of easily coping with a higher frequency of a signal to be read by a CPP type magnetoresistive element. SOLUTION: The CPP type magnetoresistive element supplies a current to a magnetoresistive film 61 arranged between a lower shielding layer 43 and an upper shielding layer 44 through the lower shielding layer 43 and the upper shielding layer 44. A non-magnetic conductor layer 57 is embedded in an insulating film between a slider body 25 and the lower shielding layer 43. A capacitive coupling allows transmission of a noise 69 from a magnetic storage medium to the slider body 25. The noise 69 affects a static capacitance C<SB>3</SB>formed between the lower shielding layer 43 and the slider body 25. Between the lower shielding layer 43 and the upper shielding layer 44, a potential change based on the noise 69 is evaded by an action of the conductor layer 57. A deterioration of S/N ratio of a reproduction signal is evaded. Magnetic information is exactly read out as before even though the read out signal has a higher frequency.
