PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video display device having compact and lightweight see-through property providing dust-proofness and water-proofness. SOLUTION: The video display device 1 includes: a display element 14 for displaying video; an ocular prism 17 for seeing an outside field by guiding light of the video displayed on the display element 14 to an optical pupil E and transmitting it; a casing 15 including and holding the display element 14 and a part of the ocular prism 17; and a first packing 4a so that it is in contact with the periphery of the ocular prism 17 and the casing 15. In a part in which the first packing 4a is in contact with the ocular prism 17 and video light of the ocular prism 17 is reflected, a mirror coat 17e is applied. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
